About Me

My name is Patrick Hurley, and I’m an instructional designer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have nearly a decade of experience creating learner-centered solutions for users across industries.

I have a passion for multimedia creation and user experience, and I employ these to design engaging educational opportunities. I hold an MsED, and possess a strong understanding of adult learning theories, project management and instructional design frameworks. I’ve written curriculum, designed trainings & I’m comfortable delivering content to an audience. I love creating meaningful work, so I always try to produce experiences that go beyond the typical mundane, mandated training.

When I’m not at work, you can find me hanging out with my two spotty dogs (Arlene & Meatball) or breaking things in my stained glass studio.

My Core Values

  • Creative Problem Solving

My knowledge of learning theories combined with my eye for design makes way for lots of clever solutions, including my favorite type — those where form & function meet.

  • Collaboration

I thrive off the exchange of information and ideas, and look forward to taking something new away from each and every person I have the pleasure of working with.

  • Commitment to Learning

I’m a lifelong learner and autodidact. I love acquiring new skills as much as I love applying them. I work to stay on top of trends so I can continue adding to my toolkit.

  • Empathy

I believe that all of the best designs and learning solutions come from a place of empathy for the users, so I strive to understand others and how they tick.
